THE QUEEREST THING I WATCHED THIS WEEK
I guess Lingo? lol
TELEVISION
COMPLETE SEASONS
The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries (available on MAX) 26
I’m a big fan of Scooby-Doo, and a whole bunch of SD content got added to MAX this week. This was technically the final season of The Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo show that I’d already seen and while I did want to finish it out, Scrappy-Doo ain’t it, y’all. I can’t stand that character and his dumb “Puppy Power!” catchphrase. In addition, they took Fred and Velma out of most of the episodes, and the show is better when the whole gang is there. There were a few episodes with real monsters, though, so that was fun. I was happy to cross this off my list, but can’t say I enjoyed it. 3/10. Queer Factor: 0/7.

CONCLUDED SEASONS
What’s New, Scooby Doo (available on MAX), Season 3, Episodes 11-14
As much as I hate to bag on two Scooby shows in one post… this one wasn’t really for me. It was fine enough, had the whole gang, played with the tropes, but I found myself distracted every episode instead of being engaged in the hi-jinks. It’s the first entry in the early 2000s that I’ve seen, so we’ll see if that was a bad decade for the franchise or if this was a one-off. 5/10. Queer Factor: 0/7.
Kite Man: Hell Yeah! (MAX), Season 1, Episodes 9-10
This is a spinoff of the very excellent Harley Quinn, but it doesn’t have the same charm. Every now and then it’ll have a good joke, or show a new Batman character we haven’t seen in this iteration yet (shout out to Baby Doll), but the storyline never really held my interest much, and I probably won’t watch a second season if they get one. 4/10. Queer Factor: 1/7.
That’s it for this week! Grand total: 58 episodes, 0 films
Thanks for reading! Until next time, stay queer out there!
